HUGE WATER DEPOSIT ON MARS COULD BE USED BY HUMAN INVASION FORCE

December 5 2011

Paris, France – it wasn’t all that long ago that all we had of the universe beyond ourselves was imagination. There was a little bit of science, to be sure, but it is only in the last few decades that we have really started to understand space, not just the vastness of it, but the makeup and nature of it, giving us a better picture of our place in the Heavens.mars attacks

Much of that knowledge has been gathered from our nearest planetary neighbour, Mars. Once seen as the planet of war, as a likely resting place for an aggressive alien species bent on our destruction, we now know that the planet, while possibly once a home for life, is now largely vacant, a tragic failure in the development of life.

Life may well exist on Mars, though not of the type we have imagined. We know there are no Martian civilizations, no space ship, no ray guns. At best all we can hope for on Mars is microbial life, and perhaps fossils from its distant past. While that may be a disappointment in many ways, it does provide us with a potential second home. And with the discovery of a massive water deposit on the planet we may be closer to living there than ever, ourselves constructing the very society we had most feared, and a likely military opponent somewhere down the line.

“We have discovered large volumes of water ice. These images show shows that lobate debris aprons are indeed strongly associated with the presence of water, perhaps only 20 meters underground,” said a spokesperson for the ESA.mars surface

In layman’s terms, the agency has found a huge deposit of water ice only a few feet below the surface of the planet which could easily be lilted down and used for human consumption, the first stage in a Martian colony that could eventually take over the planet entirely.

“This is certainly exciting news for a lot of reasons. We knew that Mars had ice but finding this amount of it and so close to the surface is something totally unexpected. It is a major step in potentially colonizing Mars which really should be our ultimate goal,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “Eventually we are going to run out of room here and we will need to live off planet. There are going to be issues with that, to be sure, but it is something we need to work towards for the good of the species.”

Because of the thin Martian atmosphere, people spending their lives on the planet likely would never see the sun or blue skies, which would build resentment against Earthers in only a few generations.martian ice

“Mars will always be smaller, which is a disadvantage in war, but that also means that it will be better maintained and the type of defence that would be required would be much more limited. There is a lot of land to defend on Earth and that really does give the advantage to Mars in any conflict,” continued Poe. “We will have more weapons than them but the history of war suggests that is not always the deciding factor. There are other issues and in those Mars will likely have the advantage which means, unfortunately, big trouble for Earth and this discovery will only accelerate the process.”

Colonization, and thus war, is still a few years away.
