METAL SPACE BALLS START POUNDING RURAL NAMIBIA

Windhoek, Namibia – Strange things fall from space all the time. Most of those objects are innocuous, bits of rock and space dust, occasionally some piece of junk that we have sent into near orbit. In short, mostly harmless objects and because the Earth is so large, the majority of those objects fall in remote areas.
Occasionally something important falls, like say and asteroid that can cause global destruction. For the most part, though, we have been spared from bombardment from space. Now though, a new mystery from the Heavens has appeared in a remote area of Namibia in the form of small, metal, balls which suddenly appeared last month.
The space ball, about 14 inches in diameter, have been spotted in various countries on occasion, all of them in the southern hemisphere, but little has been made of their appearance. Now though, the persistence of these space balls has sparked real scientific and military interest amidst concerns that these space balls pounding our planet are not innocuous at all, and may lead to a conflict with some distant alien race with really big metal balls.
“It is not an explosive device, but rather hollow, but we had to investigate all this first. It has a rough surface and appears to be two halves welded together. The substance is a metal alloy known to man. This is most certainly manufactured,” said Police deputy inspector general Vilho Hifindaka, who added that the ball itself posed no danger.
Investigators have no idea where the balls are coming from, whether or not they are of terrestrial origin, or whether or not they could pose some future problem for the human race.
Generally, metal balls from space are uncommon and until the last few years have never been recorded.
“The strange thing about these balls is that they are all fairly consistent across the planet. All the balls are pretty much the same and they all pound remote areas, which is odd. There is no record from any space faring nation, which is really just the United States and Russia, that these balls were ever sent up and it doesn’t seem like something they would need to hide,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “The other option is that they are being sent by space aliens, perhaps as some form of communication that we simply don’t understand. Maybe they aren’t really trying to communicate with us at all but rather balls indigenous to Earth. Hopefully this doesn’t turn out like ‘Star Trek IV’ because we don’t know how to travel back in time and bring back some extinct race of balls.”
In that movie, a probe attempting to communicate with Humpback whales nearly destroyed the planet before it was rescued by time traveling oceanographic experts. 
“Hopefully that isn’t the case, but there are other possibilities. It could be that they are sending these balls and expecting us to return them, perhaps with samples of dirt or DNA. In that case, they may get mad if we don’t respond and that could push them to attack and destroy us. One way or the other, we need to discover the truth about these metal balls for the good of all humanity,” continued Poe. “There could be a simpler explanation but I don’t know what that could be. Right now, aliens pounding us with space balls is all we have and we will have to go with that until we have something better.”
Thus far there is no evidence that the space balls aren’t from an alien race that could easily obliterate the human race.
