PLANNING FOR INTERPLANETARY WAR AGAINST EARTH LIKELY ALREADY UNDERWAY
November 29 2011
Washington, D.C. – For as long as human beings have looked into the stars we have wondered about our place in them. While we have thus far found no grand answers to those questions, we have at least started to discover where we are physically in the Universe and at least an inkling as to who are neighbours might be.
Like all great journeys into the unknown we have engaged in before, our trip into the stars is fraught with danger at every turn, not only because of the harsh environments but also because of the possible reception from the natives. Space exploration is no different, and unfortunately we may have already turned a dangerous corner from which there is no coming back.
For decades we have been beaming our culture into space, both good and bad, and it was inevitable that alien species would eventually discover them. That was, in fact, part of the intention of some of those broadcasts, which may have damned us already as advanced alien species are already likely preparing for war against us.
“The first question is whether Earth-like conditions can be found on other worlds, since we know empirically that those conditions could harbour life. The second question is whether conditions exist on exoplanets that suggest the possibility of other forms of life, whether known to us or not,” said Dr. Dirk Schulze-Makuch of Washington State University.
Of particular interest to researchers are near Earth planets such as those orbiting Gilese 581, a little over 20 light years away which will have received many of our transmissions. Some of the earliest transmissions will be up to 100 light years away right now. Mid-1990’s television programming would likely be reaching Gilese 581 at this stage.
There is no clear evidence that any advanced civilization is currently planning on wiping us out but they will have had plenty of time to prepare should they have wished.
“The reality, the hard reality, is that if these species were intent on waging war with us and they are already significantly more advanced, they will likely already have a force enroute to us and there is little that we will be able to do about,” said Scrape TV Science analyst Dr. Howard Poe. “The one, and sole, advantage we have is they will be 15 -20 years out of touch with where we are technologically. They will just now be receiving the first episodes of ‘Friends’ which would provide them with significant motivation, but shows how out of touch they will be.”
It’s not clear how the aliens would respond to other network programs like the significantly higher quality ‘E.R.’
“That said, we are still likely not prepared for a war with an advanced alien species capable of travelling the huge distances of space. All we can hope is that they have watched our progression and speculated that we have advanced very far very fast and that that would prompt them to issues a recall order,” continued Poe. “Otherwise we are going to be in trouble no matter how far television and movie programming has come. Our advanced weapons development simply have not kept pace with that area of human development.”
By the time those advanced species receive the final episode of ‘Friends’ the war will likely be over, one way or the other.
