SCIENTISTS CONCERNED ABOUT REAL LIFE PLANET OF THE APES SCENARIO

August 7 2011

London, U.K. – The Earth has been home to many marvels in her four billion years but none of them really stands alongside the development of mankind. Our rise, in a very short period of time, to the most dominant species the planet has ever seen has been a remarkable achievement, something which will likely never be topped.planet of the apes remake

The principle reason such a thing will never be topped is because we have done it. Our dominance is not isolated to a few areas of the globe, a few isolated spots, but has spread over every landmass and across the seas meaning that any chance of another species gaining evolutionary ground is limited at best, making it unlikely that any others will be able to challenge us, at least as long as we are around.

There is no guarantee that we will be around forever of course, something which has become the fodder for popular movies and books. However scenarios like nuclear apocalypses or robot uprising are looking more and more to be isolated to fiction, but the rise of another species, possibly at our hands, may in fact be a possibility. Such a scenario is currently playing out in movie theatres around the world in the newest ‘Planet of the Apes’ film, a scenario that many scientists may in fact already be in the works.charlton heston planet of the apes

“We felt that there's potentially a gap in the regulations of animal research, which is containing human material,” said Dr. Robin Lovell-Badge. “Whether there's any crossing over of either regulatory boundaries or ethical boundaries because of course the more human genes or cells we put into an animal the possibility is that you might start to alter its properties, its characteristics, in some way.”

The movie depicts the early days of experimentation on Chimpanzees and other apes in the name of medical research. Eventually the apes gain enough intelligence to rise up against humans and kill their human tormentors leading to the events of the 1968 film.

“It’s a frightening scenario to be sure, the stuff of nightmares but the fear may be misplaced. There are only so many chimps and gorillas on the planet and on a one-to-one basis they would certainly beat a human, however they don’t have guns or missiles and that is a serious advantage,” said Scrape TV Apocalypse analyst Seth Morris. “We could easily deal with any type of uprising from any type of animal simply because of our numbers. That is of course assuming that scientists don’t create some kind of massive monsters, say a spider-tiger-shark crossbreed. That would be scary.”

It’s believed that highly intelligent scientists are currently experimenting with the planet of the apes kiss
brains of higher apes. There is no evidence to suggest that handsome movie star James Franco, the creator of the apocalypse in the new film, is involved with that research in any way.

“We are really in a position where a mad scientist could actually affect some of these fantasies and nightmares. The real issue is numbers but if that can be overcome with sheer power, well we could very well be doomed,” continued Morris. “That would make us the slaves of the new masters, whether they are super intelligent apes like use or some kind of nightmare crossbreed with giant fangs and a bad attitude, both of which would likely be bred into them.”

Scientists have apparently kept Charlton Heston’s DNA on record just in case. Mark Wahlberg’s will not be preserved.
