WARM WINTER ACROSS NORTHERN HEMISPHERE MAY LEAD TO ANOTHER NOBEL FOR AL GORE
January 28 2012
Washington, D.C. – Normally when people in the northern United States and Canada look outside in the middle of January they see a winter wonderland, or a frozen nightmare, whichever way they look at it. Snow covering the ground, car doors frozen shut, and window that seems to knock extremities off with every gust is fairly standard for January, but not this year.
Across the normally frozen regions of North America there has been very little snow, hardly any in fact, and temperatures have regularly been well above freezing. Grass is green and people are spending time in shorts rather than in snowsuits in what is supposed to be the dead of winter. It isn’t just a mild winter, it is the winter that never happened.
Certainly there are some areas that have been hit with snow, some even with record amounts, but for the majority of people across the north the Father Winter simply decided to stay away this year, thankfully for most. Of course there is no real Father Winter, but there is Al Gore who long ago predicted such mild winters, and was awarded the Nobel Prize for doing so, and after suffering years of ridicule has finally been proven correct, much to the joy of people across North America.
“Al said this coming and people doubted him but here it is and it is pretty remarkable. I don’t even think he thought this was going to happen so quickly but here we are, sitting back and enjoying the sun in the middle of winter. It’s crazy, exactly what people thought about Al, but he was crazy like a fox, they see that now,” said a Gore insider. “It’s ultimately not a good thing. Coral reefs will die, fish populations will be decimated, and that polar bears’ ice cap will just get smaller and smaller but man does it make for a great winter. I’m not saying Nobel here, again, but I’m not not saying it either.”
Gore, along with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007 following the release of his environmental documentary ‘An Inconvenient Truth’.
Since that time great deal of controversy over the issue of global warming has arisen, particularly after some scientists were found to be fudging facts.
“Look, there are always going to be people who like to play fast and loose with the truth, who like the idea of being contrary especially in the face of things they don’t understand, but we are seeing here that the proof is in the pudding. The globe is warmer, and that means global warming. All was right,” continued the insider. “This warm winter is one of the benefits, one of the few benefits of that happening. That is something that he maybe didn’t articulate all that well and if he had perhaps people would have been more accepting, but what’s done is done. The planet is warmer, Al was right. He’s got my vote for another Nobel.”
No person has ever won multiple Nobel Peace Prizes before and it’s not yet clear of Gore has been nominated, but the field does appear to be heating up.
Gore reportedly keeps his prize in a climate controlled facility, far from the effects of the fluctuating temperatures and the inevitable flooding that will come from the melting polar ice caps.
