CLIPPERS ON RECORD PACE AFTER WINNING SECOND STRAIGHT GAME

Los Angeles, CA – There are a handful of teams in sports that exemplify the notion of futility. Teams that despite rabid fan bases, years and even decades of effort, still struggle to succeed even as other teams have success year in and year out. While 
there are a host of reasons for such continued futility, the net result is the same. There is often no one to blame, no single thing that can be resolved to correct the situation, putting fans in the position of having to support a loser year in and year out.
Whether it is the misery of hockey fans in Toronto or of baseball fans in Cleveland, the pain is the same and with the kind of loyalty those fans show, loyalty that surely deserves success, it is unlikely that the situation will change anytime soon. However not all teams suffer equally. While loyal fans, and revenues, can certainly explain away the failure of teams such as the Maple Leafs and the Indians, with franchises such as the Los Angeles Clippers that excuse really isn’t all that valid. There is no dedicated fan base for the Clippers, no grand sob stories about the teams of yesteryear. The Clippers simply exist,, exists in the shadow of one of the most successful sports teams in history, losing again and again, something they hope to change this year after winning two straight games.
“It’s very exciting. Our guys are working hard, working hard on the floor and in practice. That is really starting to pay off in wins and we are very excited about where we are going,” said head coach Vinny Del Negro. “This has been a long time in coming for fans and for the players and we are very excited and confident about the future. We all feel that this is only the beginning of great things for this franchise and for the fans.”
The Clippers have now won three games.
“I think with teams like the Clippers there really isn’t the kind of romantic empathy that exists with some other franchises. Certain teams have a winning history and have fallen on hard times. That sets things up perfectly for a comeback tale, a kind of redemption, but with the Clippers that storyline simply doesn’t exist because they have had so much failure in the past,” said Scrape TV 
Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “Because they have been trying for so long there is a kind of empathy, almost a pity from fans of other teams. As much as people make fun of the team, I’m sure everyone would like to see them do well, root for the underdog kind of thing. I mean no one is rooting for them to suddenly win the championship or become one of the premiere teams in the league and quite rightly so, that would be a wasted effort.”
The team has had six winning seasons since it was founded in 1970.
“Really they just need to win by their own standards, not by the standards of the rest of the league. They are part of certain class of teams in the league for whom winning a whole bunch of games just isn’t a practical reality or even a goal. They would do best by just showing up and playing,” continued Marvins. “Teams like Milwaukee, Minnesota, and Golden State are in a similar situation. Of course with the Clippers the story is a little different because no one is really rooting for them and so any wins are really theirs to savour. We’ll have to wait and see how the season plays out but with the mix of talent they have I think we could be looking at a twelve-win season here which is just great news.”
Surprisingly, the Clippers had more winning seasons during their early days in Buffalo than they have had in LA. Buffalo.
