KEY WITNESS IN DODGERS BEATING CASE DIES UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

August 3 2011

Los Angeles, CA – Matthew Lee, a man considered a key witness in the now notorious beating incident at Dodgers stadium, has been found dead. Lee, who was a friend of the victim in the beating, died after apparently consuming a nut-laden salad. dodgers logo
Lee and his friend, Bryan Stow, first came to public attention on March 31st of this year after attending a game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and their favourite team, the San Francisco Giants. The pair was attacked in the parking lot of the stadium in an assault that left Stow hospitalized for four months and permanently brain damaged.

Two men, Louie Sanchez and Marvin Norwood, have been charged in the case with an arraignment due August 10th. However, with the death of the key witness the case now appears to be in peril, leaving investigators scrambling to reassemble their case. The two accused men, currently in jail, are not suspects in the nut death but police officials are apparently investigating any links they may have with the people behind the salad preparation.

“Our hearts go out to the Lee family of course. In the short time we knew Mr. Lee we found him to be a kind and generous man and devoted father. He was caught up in an incident beyond his control yet he always behaved with integrity and honesty,” said a nutty
police spokesperson. “We will be investigating this death as we do any death. On the surface it appears that this was a tragic accident, but we do have reason to believe that at least one of the suspects in the beating case had connections in the food preparation industry and we are exploring that.”

Officials did not detail any specifics of what they believed the connection might be, or how exactly either of the men reached out from their jail cells to potentially rid themselves of a major problem.

“It would be really sad to see something like this happen. Too often witnesses are snubbed out in criminal proceedings and it does nothing but harm to the criminal justice system. Every time a high-profile witness is killed people get scared and refuse to testify,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “There are other witnesses in this case apparently and none of them have backed out, yet, but that could only be a matter of time.”

It’s not clear what other kinds of connections to the outside world the pair might have, but DOC officials have begun monitoring outgoing communications.

“Many of the things you see in prison movies are exaggerated but some things are real, or at least based on reality. There are multiple levels of communication with the outside world and we are only capable of diminishing them unfortunately,” said a spokesperson for the city. “We don’t want any more incidents like this. We will not tolerate people acting out acts of revenge against the law-abiding public under any circumstance. That type of behaviour is inexcusable.”nuts

Another witness apparently just missed being hit by a speeding car the day before Lee’s death.

“We will do what we can to protect witnesses in any criminal case. We will not tolerate these types of actions and if connections are found, we will prosecute them accordingly,” continued the spokesperson. “These individuals have been moved to a higher level of security in response to this incident and will have limited communication with the outside world, and absolutely no access to nuts or nut by-products.”

Lee had two young children, both of whom had been threatened at the local park in recent weeks.
