MANNY RAMIREZ STILL KNOCKING THEM OUT OF THE PARK IN RETIREMENT

Miami, FL – Manny Ramirez has been arrested for allegedly slapping his wife during an altercation sometime on Monday. His wife Juliana called police after Ramirez slapped her with an open hand, which caused her to hit her head against the headboard of the bed.
Ramirez was taken into custody by police shortly after the incident. He has been charged and later posted a 2500 bond and was released from jail.
The incident marks the first such case for the now retired MLB superstar, and shows that despite his retirement and advancing age that he still has the talent that made him big, that he can still knock ‘em out of the park like a youngster.
“We have no comment on the situation except to say that it is private and will be dealt with privately. Manny has returned to his home after posting bond,” said a spokesperson for Ramirez. “This is an upsetting time for the Ramirez family and it will be dealt with privately and personally because of that. Thanks you very much.”
Ramirez retired earlier this year. He racked up 12 All-Star selections, a World Series MVP, and 9 Silver Slugger Awards in his 18-year career. 
“It’s always upsetting when you see these types of incidents but it really shouldn’t be, because they are so common. I mean the Ramirez case is slightly different but only slightly. It is great though to see that he’s still got it,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “I mean after so many years you would think that he’s lost his step a little bit. Yes, he retired because of the steroid thing but he had also been wandering from team-to-team which happens with so many players as they refuse to admit that their talent has degraded.”
Ramirez played five games for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays this year before retiring. He went 1-for 17 during those games.
“Ramirez is certainly one of those players who will always be followed by the steroid 
issue. It may even prevent him from getting into the Hall of Fame despite having numbers that should make him a first ballot choice. It’s really a shame to see him wandering the way he did, especially since he did still have punch,” continued Marvins. “Usually when players start to become vagrants, tramps really, their best days are behind them. That may have been the case with Ramirez but that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t still hit it out of the park every now and then. He proved with this incident that he still has the arm strength and speed to hit the ball. Hitting someone with an open hand hard enough to snap their head back is no easy accomplishment. It almost makes you hope that he will make a comeback but that won’t happen, not with the steroid thing.”
Ramirez went out to knock a few balls around after being released.
