NEW INFORMATION SUGGESTS THAT ALMOST ALL NFL INJURIES ARE FAKED

September 25 2011

New York, NY – The flop has been a tried and true game play tactic in a number of sports. Soccer and basketball in particular have taken the technique to near art form, utilizing fake injuries to advance the game and occasionally turn the tide towards their team. In all other sports, though, it is frowned upon though much more difficult to spot because of the violence involved.injury nfl

In particular, the sport of football is extremely violent. High speed collisions with strong and heavy bodies inevitably create a lot of damage. As much as the sport has tried to reduce the frequency and severity of such injuries, they are going to occur because of the nature of the game, and it appears because most of the players are just faking it.

The issue came to light following a Monday night game between the New York Giants and the St. Louis Rams in which the latter team accused players for the Giants of deliberately faking injuries in an effort to slow down their offence. That in turn prompted the NFL to issue a memo to all teams, stating that such activity was a violation of league rules and would not be tolerated. The Giants denied faking any injuries, but a new investigation has shown that the technique is much more widespread than previously believed, and that the majority of damaged limbs and brains in the league may be little more than clever trickery.

“It’s difficult sometimes to get the truth because it is a violent sport, but we are finding that more and more we are seeing players go out for one or two plays and injured nfl player
then jump back in, indicating that they were not injured nearly enough to have stopped play in the first place. That would be a flop,” said an NFL insider. “It’s tough to prove, and you have the union involved so the league can’t just act unilaterally, but we are finding that the majority of these injuries either aren’t happening or are grossly exaggerated.”

No one was fined or cited in the Rams-Giants game. Accusations of such behaviour have arisen in the past to no avail.

“We are also finding that sometimes these ‘injuries’ have also prompted rule changes. While we are always going to default to protecting quarterbacks, we have found that a lot of concussions are little more than bad headaches, but we have changed the rules based on the assumption that it was serious, which in turn has changed the way the game is played,” continued the insider. “It’s going to be tough, but we want to weed out these fakers and restore the honour and integrity of the game, and allow people to get injured in the regular way.”jay cutler bears on bench

Star quarterback Michael Vick was knocked out last week with a ‘concussion’, which coincided with tickets for a Caribbean cruise he had received as a gift.

“I doubt that many players are deliberately faking injuries, at least not consciously. That would be the type of secret that would get out and hurt the teams, and the reputation of the players. No one in football wants to be seen as a wimp, well unless you quarterback the Bears,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “It would, though, speed up the game. None of these game stoppages, people running out onto the field with stretchers, ambulances tearing up the turf. It would make the game a lot faster and more entertaining if they could just get rid of those fakers, better for everyone really.”

Jay Cutler, the quarterback for the Bears, apparently had a kink in his neck when he woke up this morning.
