RAPE ALLEGATIONS CAST DOUBT ON LAWRENCE TAYLOR’S NFL ACHIEVEMENTS

New York, NY – There are few players in any sports that truly define a position. Rarer still are those players who completely change a position, players who are so far beyond anything that has come before that the game simply will not be the same after
them. Lawrence Taylor was one of those players. His awards and stats go a long way towards helping to articulate how great he truly was, but the intangibles are what really made him great. MVPs, Pro Bowls, and entry into the Hall of Fame are simply the easiest way to voice how great a player Taylor was and how he forever changed the way the game was played.
From the start of his career it was clear that LT was something different and over the following twelve years he more than justified that assessment becoming one of the most dominant defensive players in the league and a model for every linebacker since. Number 56 had his problems though, both on and off the field, but earnest recovery efforts and a genial personality helped to restore much good faith and allow his legend to shine. However ne allegations that Taylor raped a 15-year old girl has cast a shadow over the great LT and leaving many to wonder what might really having been going on with all those tackles.
“The investigation indicates that Mr. Taylor engaged in sexual intercourse with a child less than 17, for which he paid the victim $300. The young woman also had a black eye and other injuries which required treatment at hospital but our investigation showed that Mr. Taylor had no involvement in an injury against the victim,” said police in statement. “Mr. Taylor has been charged with a number of offenses but has been very cooperative with our investigation. It is our understanding that he has been released on bond. We will make no further statement on this case.”
Taylor has denied the charges however it is believed that the accusations may cast a shadow over previous achievements.
“The truth, the hard truth is that Lawrence Taylor is one of the greatest players to 
ever step foot on an NFL field. All his awards and acclaim and more than earned. His has always been a case where there was no hyperbole. He was everything that people said he was and more. Truly one of the greats in the history of sport, not just football,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “However much of that will now be called into question. The NFL isn’t known as the No Fun League for nothing. They have very strict rules against certain kinds of behaviour and even though he isn’t an active player anymore they still have great sway over him. The alumni in the league is very robust and they have a voice that will no doubt be second guessing how many chances they are going to give him, no matter how great he was.”
Taylor has had well publicized issues with drugs and prostitution though had declared himself clean more than a decade ago.
“The real issue isn’t whether or not he is convicted on these charges. Look at the hit 
O.J. Simpson’s reputation took and he is still in the Hall of Fame the question is whether or not there was something illicit going on during all those tackles and scrambles for the ball. O.J.’s murdering ways wouldn’t have helped him score touchdowns but if LT is all rapey that certainly could have helped him take down a ball carrier or two,” continued Marvins. “It’s going to be hard to prove given the culture of the game but I’m sure they will have more than a few people willing to talk, at least anonymously, and they have tons and tons of game tape so they will be able to see whether or not he took unfair advantage while on the field.”
Taylor’s family has denied the charges, his wife stressing that he has never raped her or any of their children.
