TIGER WOODS DUMPS CADDIE AFTER HE’S SEEN WITH ANOTHER GOLFER

Miami, FL – Teamwork. For most people the term is just a word, something bosses toss around in early-morning meetings, but which gets tossed away almost as soon as the day starts. We were taught teamwork as children, playing in the schoolyard 
and doing arts and crafts, but those lessons eventually slip away as a well. For most people teamwork is just a word, a fine concept to be sure, but a thing which fades away with the realities of life.
Teamwork, though, has been an essential component of the human experience. It is what has allowed us to be so successful and to dominate in the world. We see elements of teamwork every day in the roads we drive and the laws we obey. Human society is built on teamwork and cooperation. There are some areas where teamwork, boss-giving-a speech form, is essential to success, where the selfish rarely excel, where cooperation is necessary. Sport is one of those areas. Sports, all sports, require some degree of cooperation between participants, whether between teammates, a trainer and athlete, or even with the opposing players being forced to follow the rules. Teamwork is essential in all sports, and so when a good team is assembled the last thing anyone wants to do is split them up. Unfortunately, a split is exactly what has happened to one of the best teams in the history of sport after Tiger Woods fired long-time caddy Steve Williams after he found him spending time with other golfers.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change,” said Woods on his website. “Stevie is an outstanding caddie and a friend and has been instrumental in many of my accomplishments. I wish him great success in the future.”
The pair had been together for 12 years, winning 13 major championships in that time. It’s believed that Williams had been spending his personal time on the golf course carrying the bags for other players while Woods recovered from an injured knee.
“Following the completion of the AT&T National I am no longer caddying for Tiger after he informed me that he needed to make a change. After 13 years of loyal service needless to say this came as a shock. Given the circumstances of the past 18 months working through Tiger's scandal, a new coach and with it a major swing change and Tiger battling through injuries I am very disappointed to end our very successful partnership at this time,” said Williams, before adding bitterly. “I took a lot of heat during Tiger's scandal, not just myself but my family as well, and never really got pardoned from that scandal. I would have to say given what transpired 12-18 months ago, I think anybody in my situation would say they didn't have total respect. That respect would have to be earned and this situation is definitely not earning my respect.”
In particular, Williams was recently seen carrying the bag of Adam Scott, a runner-up for the Masters. It is believed that was just one of many indiscretions by the caddie.
“The relationship between a golfer and his caddie is a strange and very potent one. Behind every great golfer is a great caddie, carrying his bags, making sure his balls are ready. It is an essential relationship in the sport and when it goes bad, well, it goes really bad,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “Obviously things have gone awry here. It has to be a major shock for Woods, who brought Williams so much, to see him carrying other people’s bags and polishing their clubs. Perhaps part of that isolation was Woods’ fault, perhaps he drove him away, but that doesn’t make it hurt any less. A very sad day for everyone involved to be sure.”
Woods hasn’t announced any future caddie plans.
