TRACY MCGRADY BREAKS WRIST SIGNING ONE YEAR CONTRACT WITH PISTONS

Detroit, MI – Talent is always an important ingredient in greatness, no matter the field. Talent drives success and in turn helps to create greatness. Talent alone does not make a person great though. Hard work plays an essential role in any type of 
success but even that does not lead to greatness. Will and determination are essential, but that kind of success can only be achieved through a combination of factors, most of the controllable, but some, most notably luck, are either there or they are not. In sport that is especially true.
No matter how hard a person works and no matter how much talent they might or might not have, athletes are subject to the whims of fate. A hard turn on an ankle, a hit in just the wrong spot, or even an accidental collision can undo an entire career and destroy everything for which a person has worked. Injuries have undone the careers of many athletes both great and small. Some careers were destroyed after greatness had already been achieved but with others injuries never let a career fully shine, as has been the case with NBA player Tracy McGrady who today suffered 
another setback in his injury-plagued career when he broke his wrist while signing a new one-year deal with the Detroit Pistons.
“T-Mac is good. He went to the hospital and has had the wrist taken care of and we expect that he will be ready for the start of the season next year. It was a small break, no pins or anything so we expect a quick recovery in time for the start of the season,” said a Pistons spokesperson. “We are very happy to have Tracy with the team. We feel his experience and talent will lend s a lot to our team and allow us a base on which to build. Once he fully recovers we will rotate him in and he can start teaching our guys how to win.”
Once thought to be an heir apparent to the great players of the NBA’s past, McGrady has suffered numerous injuries and moved from team to team, never living up to his early promise.
“McGrady is one of those guys that are a real tragedy. He had talent, not Jordan talent, but talent nonetheless and he worked hard to explore that talent but the fates just didn’t seem to be on his side. It’s always sad when you see a talented guy lose because he didn’t try, but it’s even worse when you see a guy try and still lose,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “That’s even true in the case of McGrady. I mean I know he alienated people in Toronto, Orlando, Houston, and even in New York even though he was only there for one season but it’s still kind of sad from a human perspective. Even if you don’t like or respect him he’s still a human being.”
Most experts agree that McGrady is indeed a human being.
“It would have been interesting to where he could have gone if he had been healthy. He likely would have ended up in the Hall of Fame, well like on the walls. I mean he’s still able to go to the Hall but he will only get to wander around and look at the pictures like everyone else,” continued Marvins. “It’s really sad to see that talent gone to seed like that but McGrady wasn’t due anything special no matter what he or his family might have thought. This is the nature of sport. You don’t win by just sinking baskets. There are more variables then just that.”
McGrady reportedly also took a tumble upon release from the hospital but only suffered a few minor scratches.
