VIKINGS OFFICIALS: HAND INJURY WILL NOT AFFECT BRETT FAVRE’S TEXTING STREAK

Boston, MA – In recent years little else but controversy has followed Brett Favre. It’s an odd position to be sure for a man who is without a doubt one of the greatest players to every play the game but it is a reality. Consistent speculation about 
retirement, abdication of his throne in Green Bay, a return to a division rival, the ongoing texting saga, and now the debate over his starting streak are all controversies that simply didn’t exist for the old Brett Favre and few imagined ever would.
While outsiders may never know the truth, it is entirely possible that Favre may eventually live to regret these last few years of his extended career. With another Super Bowl unlikely and little added to his stats, Favre has gained little but controversy and disdain from people who once adored him. Favre’s reputation may eventually regain some of its former lustre but there is no guarantee of that, particularly if the ongoing texting saga gets worse. In the midst of dealing that controversy, Favre already struggling with a broken pivot foot, has apparently injured his hand, no small feat for a 41-year old quarterback who has never missed a text. However, while Favre’s future is certainly in serious doubt, team officials have confirmed that his injury will not impact his texting ability or his legendary streak.
“Brett has been working hard over the last week to ensure that he is strong and ready to go not only for today but also for the rest of the season. We are all very happy with his progress and are very confident that he will be able to be the Brett Favre of old even with this injury,” said a team official. “I can also confirm that no other aspects of Brett’s routine have been altered by this injury. He has been able to practice through the week and engage in all other aspects of text mechanics. In fact just a few moments ago I received a message from him stating that he was feeling great after the game.”
Favre broke two bones in his foot during last week’s game.
“Favre’s streak has really been one of the most remarkable in all of sports. Football is tough game and very few position players are able to play into their forties, never mind never miss a start, never mind continue to perform at such a high level. Favre’s success is really unprecedented and amazing even if it has been embroiled in all this controversy of late,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “It certainly may not be a wise decision to put him back on the field or on the phone so quickly, but Favre has done some pretty incredible things in his career and so you can’t really put another miracle past him. Luckily it doesn’t seem to be affecting him all that much and that the rest of his life hasn’t been impacted by the injury.”
Generally speaking, injuries to the lower extremities have little or no impact on the upper extremities or the digits of the hand.
“I sincerely doubt that anyone would have thought that he would have been back so quickly but the one thing we have learned with Brett Favre is to expect the unexpected. With an injury like this a normal person would have been derailed, but Favre is just not a normal man, that’s clear,” continued Marvins. “Luckily that cell phone will be getting plenty of use of the next few days and weeks which is exactly what we would expect. It would have been really sad to see this streak end in such an ignominious way.”
Favre recently purchased a Blackberry Torch and reportedly loves it.
