BILL GATES WANTS GAY MARRIAGE LEGAL SO HE CAN MARRY HIS BOYFRIEND MARK ZUCKERBERG
January 21 2012
Redmond, WA – Microsoft, in its heyday, was notorious for taking what it wanted. It seemed that you couldn’t turn around without reading another story of how Microsoft manhandled some smaller company, bought it for way less than it was worth, or somehow wrenched it from the hands of the people who had built it from the ground up. That was Microsoft’s modus operandi and it gave them huge success, at least in the early days.
Eventually people caught onto Microsoft’s ways and, particularly as web companies started to have real success, it became much easier to escape Microsoft’s grasp, either remaining independent or taking money from someone else in order to stay clear of the Redmond giant. That, in turn, forced Microsoft to change their strategy, something which continues to this day.
No longer the feared raider, Microsoft has done a lot more building from inside – look at the Bing and the failed takeover of Yahoo! as an example – but the company still relies heavily on outsiders, though now they try a little more romance to get what they want, something now visualized as they come out in favour of gay marriage just at the same time the company continues to court Facebook, showing how far it really has come in recent years.
“As other states recognize marriage equality, Washington's employers are at a
disadvantage if we cannot offer a similar, inclusive environment to our talented employees, our top recruits and their families. Employers in the technology sector face an unprecedented national and global competition for top talent. Despite progress made in recent years with domestic partnership rights, same-sex couples in Washington still hold a different status from their neighbors. Marriage equality in Washington would put employers here on an equal footing with employers in the six other states that already recognize the committed relationships of same-sex couples - Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont. This in turn will help us continue to compete for talent,” the company said in statement.
Microsoft has invested hundreds of millions into Facebook in the past, a relationship which has only evolved as they have gone forward.
“Microsoft wants Facebook, which really isn’t a surprise. Everyone wants Facebook.
She’s the new beautiful face. People are climbing all over themselves to get at her and no one has yet. Microsoft seems to be in the best position, already having a strong foothold in it, but now it appears that they are making more aggressive moves, trying to really get her before she goes independent,” said Scrape TV Technology analyst Ken Kevins. “It’s a good time to strike. Mark Zuckerberg was seen a lot, frequently actually, with Steve Jobs but now that he’s gone there is really only one big suitor left and that really does leave it in Microsoft’s hands, really in Bill Gates’ hands. He may not be in charge of the company anymore, but he is the face and he is the one that really, really wants Zuckerberg. It’s so obvious.”
Gates is currently married to a woman and Zuckerberg has a long-time girlfriend, which no one really buys anyway.
