GOOGLE LOOKING FOR WAYS TO MONETIZE THE HUMAN BODY

December 20 2010

Mountain View, CA – At this stage there are really no adjective to explain the rise and power of Google. The company’s success has been unlike any other in the history of business and that success has in turn helped to entirely renovate a fledgling larry page and sergey brin
medium. Google is far more than just a company that has profited off the success of the business in which they work, they have helped create that business, a business that is rapidly altering and changing not only itself but also the world.

With billions of dollars in revenue and virtual domination of the web and its users, it would appear to outsiders that the company had nowhere to go. Still, the company has continued to innovate and get into fields that seem far along from their business model. Whether it’s self-driving cars or cell phones, the company has not sat still and simply collected their billions of dollars. However the company is still a company and its first priority is making money, something they know very well how to do. While certain products may not, at first blush, seem to have much profit potential, it is exactly that challenge the company has always excelled in facing. Now Google is trying something new again and trying to determine exactly how to make money of the human body.human anatomy

“At first glance, Body Browser just seems like a fun little application, a silly kind of waste of time but any project like this requires a great deal of time and financial investment and they aren’t putting that money into this in order to not profit in some way, that’s just not the way Google does business,” said an insider. “A lot of these things seem very difficult to monetize and with things like maps or street view nothing has been done despite being online for a long time, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen and the body browser is the first real attempt at that.”

The vast majority of Google’s revenue comes from display advertising on their own sites and through their Adsense program.

“Basically by putting the human body out in front, something everyone is obviously xray human body
intimately associated with, they can determine where the boundaries are, determine what it is people are willing to accept and what it is they would rather stay away from. If things fail, they fail, but they will be able to learn what the rules can be and how far they can push them,” continued the insider. “There will be obvious things like ads related to medical advice, but this is just the first step in a wider plan to actually monetize the users themselves. Information has always been a fundamental component in all advertising and now they have access to details well beyond the norm. You search for liver problems and they know you like to drink, which opens new advertising potential, and so on. It’s really quite potent.”human body

Thus far, there is no advertising on the beta version of the project.

“Google’s success has always been built on desires and demands. Their entire business model has been about people and what we want and need and this is really no different. This will be the first time that a commercial company totally unaffiliated with medicine has made an effort to monetize the human body but if it’s successful it won’t be the last,” said Scrape TV Technology analyst Ken Kevins. “This could be a failure, but it could also be a huge success. Google has always succeeded in trying new things simply because they can and this is no different. This could fail but from that failure they will learn new things and new ways to make money off people, even off their kidneys.”

The company also has organ donation software in the very early stages of development.
