GOOGLE TO TAKE OVER THE TASK OF FREE WILL FOR MILLIONS

Mountain View, CA – Every now and then truly disruptive technologies emerge in the world. The printing press, the internal combustion engine, and plastics are examples of such types of technologies. They are developments that have 
fundamentally shifted the way the world works and created entirely new industries based around them. Often times those industries, like say writing books, seem totally unrelated because they have become such independent activities, but without that initial shift such developments would not have been possible.
It’s hard to pin down when exactly the internet was invented. Some would argue that the development of ARPANET was the real shift, others argue that the development of HTTP was the thing that made the modern web world possible and pushed the internet as a whole to prominence. Regardless of the exact moment the internet was put into action, it has proven itself as perhaps the most disruptive technology ever created. Like other technologies it has also spawned new businesses and none have been as successful as Google which in turn has helped to radically redefine the web and the internet. The ease of modern search which Google pioneered has made the medium accessible to millions of people and in the process made Google into a multi-billion dollar corporation. Google though hasn’t rested on its laurels, developing new products and spreading further, something that they want to push even further with the announcement that they are going to start taking over the human mind.
“We want Google to be the third half of your brain,” Google co-founder Sergey Brin told an audience in California today where the company was announcing a new refinement to their search, so-called Google Instant. Brin did not clarify what exactly that comment meant though most regard it as an furthering of the idea that search will know what you want before you actually ask, though others have brought up real concerns that the company may be stepping into dangerous territory.
“We are concerned which is why we are investigating the company. We believe that
some of the practices of the company are monopolistic in nature and this statement, basically that they are going to take over certain parts of the human brain, is as a step into a very dangerous realm. The removal of free will is something quite disturbing,” said a spokesperson for the state of Texas which is investigating the company. “The law here in Texas doesn’t quite cover the taking over of a person’s mind but it could be used to show a pattern of behaviour and a manner of business that could lead to dangerous monopolistic practices. We are very interested in what he meant by saying that.”
It’s believed that any integration into the human brain would be done on a software level. The process of replacing sections of brain in billions of people would likely be beyond even Google’s enormous reach.
“The entire concept of free will is something transient in its essence anyway. That makes it something very difficult to manipulate but also something very difficult to protect never mind legislate. The idea that the law could somehow protect free will is as foolish as those who believe they can manipulate it to their will. That is of course assuming free will exists at all,” said Scrape TV Philosophy analyst Prince Chaywan. “It would certainly be an enormous economic advantage if Google did replace sections of the human mind but it is unlikely that they would be able to break the bonds of the individual. Many have tried and just as many have failed. Google may have many powers but controlling the power of the human mind is something beyond even them.”
It's not immediately clear how the brain could be divided into three halves.
