MPAA WANTS TO TURN THE UNITED STATES OVER TO CHINA

December 13 2011

Washington, D.C. – Pretty much from the beginning the internet was breaking the law. From the first time a picture or an audio file was transmitted over the network, copyrights were being trod upon. One could argue, in fact that the internet in general is reliant on copyright infringement. All it does is transmit information, ideas, experiences and the like from one place to another and, frequently, the people doing the sending and receiving don’t have all the rights to that information.kid on computer

For the most part those violations are dismissed, only marginally a concern but when it comes to the copyrights of big business, industries like movies and music, it has become a much harsher playground. With billions of dollars at stake those industries have been fighting copyright infringements, both in the courts and, more recently, with their lobbyists in Washington.

That lobbying has led to the situation we have today, a fight over new restrictions on internet usage and the potential blocking of websites that infringe on copyrights. The battle, waged by the copyright industry on one side and the internet industry on the other, has created a lot of rhetoric and will, ultimately, change American culture no matter which way it goes, even going so far as to turn the United State over to Chinese rule, as the movie industry would like.

“When the Chinese told Google that they had to block sites or they couldn't do business in their country, they managed to figure out how to block sites,” said former Senator and current head of the MPAA Christopher Dodd.chris dodd

Google, which is fighting the bill, was heavily criticized for its decision to work with the Chinese government to black out certain sites, which prompted them to temporarily block results for the word irony from their search.

Dodd apparently only uses the internet for emails and looking at funny videos of pandas, the latter mostly on the Google-owned YouTube.

“I think that if even if SOPA and PROTECT IP do pass the senate they likely won’t go any further than that. The courts will knock them down because they are clearly in violation of the U.S. constitution. I think that if the MPAA really wants change what they should be challenging is that, the constitution. That will make it much easier to pass the laws they want,” said Scrape TV Legal analyst Gabe Hawthorne. “That document really does get in the way of a lot of laws being passed and without it they would be doing themselves, and whole lot of other people, big favours. Obviously, they don’t like it and don’t want it which is why they are pushing these bills in the first place.”

The MPAA unsuccessfully lobbied to legalize raping underage girls on couches in the 1970’s, something which they would likely revisit once they remove the constitution.chinese food

“I’m sure they would have a lot of other lobbyists on their side if they went after the constitution. It would make so many things so much easier for so many people that it just seems like the right thing to do,” continued Hawthorne. “Getting the new system down will take a little bit of effort, presuming they just don’t get Chinese help. That would probably be the best way to go about that, just give over to China and they will get everything they want, and a little more to be sure. The Chinese are full of surprises.”

Christopher Dodd reportedly eats Chinese food at least three times a week, which is put severe restrictions on his pants.
