STUDY SHOWS ONLY IDIOTS USE INTERNET EXPLORER

Vancouver, B.C. – A detailed study of more than 100,000 people showed that the less intelligent people are more likely to use Microsoft’s Internet Explorer than any other web browser. 
The study, by AptiQuant in Vancouver, administered I.Q. tests to visitors over a 4-week period and found that multiple versions of Explorer garnered usage by less intelligent people when compared to other popular browsers such as Mozilla’s Firefox and Google’s Chrome.
“A significant number of individuals with a low score on the cognitive test were found to be using Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 6.0 to 9.0,” said a spokesperson for the study. “The comparison clearly suggests that more people on the higher side of IQ scale have moved away from Internet Explorer in the last five years.”
Scoring highest was Opera, though only a handful of people actually visited the site with that browser.
“The conceit, one supposes, is that people who are naturally more technically inclined, perhaps more adept, are more likely to pursue a browser rather than simply use the 
default on their machine which is what Internet Explorer has been for a long time. It may also indicate that less intelligent people just don’t care what browser they are using,” said Scrape TV Technology analyst Ken Kevins. “It could also mean that people had trouble answering the questions if they were using Explorer. It’s a fairly slow piece of software and it still doesn’t conform to web standards very well so it could be that the site broke when they visited.”
The lowest rating was reserved for Internet Explorer 6. That version is still commonly used in many businesses across the world, indicating that many cubicle workers may in fact not be that intelligent.
“There are lots of things that this study may show and one of them may be that people who are using browsers other than IE are doing the test from home, where they are more comfortable and relaxed, which in turn could skew the results,” continued Kevins. “That particular wild card may not be solvable because internet access in trailer parks is spotty at best, which is where most IE users live, at least IE 6 users. Many of them probably just get frustrated and stop the survey part way through.”
The test is not considered scientific in anyway but it has brought a great deal of attention to the company behind, indicating they are no dummies.
“Firefox mostly. I don’t think anyone uses Internet Explorer at the company, well maybe the janitors but they are really employed by the building and not the company
itself. No dummies allowed here,” said one worker who preferred not to be named.
“It’s actually really disturbing that we have so many idiots visiting our site. We put a lot of time into it and we aren’t trying to cater to them. Hopefully the company just bans Internet Explorer from even viewing the site. We don’t need them.”
The janitorial staff had no comment.
“This battle between the browsers will never end. There will always be an upper echelon, an upper crust. If less intelligent people move to Firefox everyone else will move to Camino or something else. Eventually they may end up on IE just out of spite,” continued Kevins. “The whole thing if kind of stupid you ask me.”
Microsoft officials were not given an opportunity to respond to the study.
