WOZNIAK AFRAID APPLE IS IN TROUBLE UNLESS THEY CAN BRING BACK STEVE JOBS
October 16 2011
Los Gatos, CA – As much attention as the death of Steve Jobs has gotten in the last few weeks, limited attention has been paid to the other, and possibly more important, half of the dynamic duo that founded Apple. While people have sought out Steve Wozniak for his personal reflections on his deceased friend, few have actually looked to him to try and determine what the future may hold for the company he helped create.
Luckily, Woz is never short of words. At a launch for the newest version of the iPhone, released last week, Wozniak was asked what he thought about the future of the company without Jobs, and what could be done to ensure that the long legacy he helped create would be secure for future. While he was vague on details, his comments have brought up speculation that even he feels the company will be in trouble without Jobs and that he would like him back in charge, if that were at all possible.
“I’m a little afraid about the future of Apple even though it could go positive. Steve doesn’t want us to think about dual-core processors, all we need to know is how do we get our answer, how do we connect to the internet… Human things, not technical things,” Wozniak told an enthusiastic fan.
It is the reference to Jobs in the present tense that has sparked speculation, speculation that Jobs may actually still be alive, or that the technical genius that made
Apple a company may be working on a way to bring Jobs back in one form or another.
Wozniak is officially retired from Apple and so it’s not clear if any resurrection technology he developed would become their property.
“Look, Apple was Steve and Steve. They made the company, they made it happen. Woz was the brains and Jobs was the voice and the two of them worked together to make it happen better than anyone had done in the past. Obviously Jobs had taken over in recent years, but the kernel of the genius lies in the relationship between the two of them,” said Scrape TV Technology analyst Ken Kevins. “There would be no iPods or iPhones if the two of them had never met, period, and Wozniak is the man who really made it happen. If anyone can develop the technology to bring Jobs back it is Woz. Jobs would just make it look slick.”
Jobs apparently left detailed plans for the future of his company, products for the next four years, though resurrection machines were apparently not a part of those plans.
“I think, unfortunately, this particular development will fall flat. People have attempted resurrection for millennia and as advanced as our technology has become, we don’t seem to be any closer to perfecting the technology than we ever have been before. Extending life yes, but not restoring it,” continued Kevins. “There is also the possibility that a resurrected Steve Jobs wouldn’t be the Steve Jobs we know and love. I doubt we will see him trying to eat employees, though that is a possibility, but his own brain will likely be a little gooey and his brain is really what makes him the man we loved. If Woz can overcome that, great, but if not it might be best to just let him rest in peace.”
Jobs was a Buddhist and thus believed in resurrection.
