COUPLE FINDS NATALEE HOLLOWAY’S REMAINS, CAR KEYS, LOST TV REMOTE
March 20 2010
Oranjestad, Aruba – The Caribbean is home to many mysteries and tales dating back for as long as Europeans have lived in the Americas. Chief amongst those grand tales are those of piracy which so dominated the region for hundreds of years. Many

of the tales and personage that we now associate with classic piracy actually originates in the Caribbean, ensuring that the mystique of the region remains. While new religions – such as Voodoo and Rastafarian – and mysteries like the Bermuda Triangle have added to the stories from the region, it is pirates that continue to colour the area.
Because of that long and violent history it should come as no surprise that the ocean floor in the region is littered with the effects of piracy. Gold, treasure chests, and of course human remains likely make up a significant portion land beneath the crystal clear water. Treasure hunters, both professional and hobbyist, continue to flock to the region in hopes of uncovering some pirate booty, or at least touching in some way the magic of the area. Now an elderly couple may have stumbled upon the solution to one of the most compelling mysteries the region has offered in recent years, the disappearance of 18-year old Natalee Holloway in 2005. While far from conclusive, the couple’s track record at uncovering mysteries is undeniable – from a long lost purse to a missing television remote – that investigators are eagerly optimistic about the find.
“You can see a fish. You can see some rocks. And then you can see this body lying on its back, facing up. I showed my doctor and he said it looks like it's weighted down with some rocks. It just seems so strange that that girl never showed up, and here we are right off the shoreline, right where she disappeared, and there's a body lying there,” said John Muldowney whose wife, Patti, took the shot while snorkelling off the coast of Aruba. “I have a gut feeling that the skeleton could be Natalee. I hate to say I wish it was her, but it would give that family some closure.”
Muldowney’s gut feelings also yielded great results just before leaving for the trip to Aruba, finding his car keys in the cushions of a chair he rarely uses.
“It was the strangest thing. I never, ever sit in that chair. Neither does Patti. It’s really
only there for guests. I also usually put the keys on the little hanger by the door but when we were about to leave I couldn’t find them and for some reason I just bee lined it that chair and there they were,” continued Muldowney. “I’m not going to say I’m psychic or anything but that kind of thing happens quite frequently. Just the other day I lost my television remote and looked all over the place for it and then all of a sudden it occurred to me that I might have left it in the kitchen, and presto there it was. There is some other force out there, I tell you.”
Normally such finds would be attributed to memory, but Muldowney’s insistence and passion has convinced investigators that his instincts are above par, prompting an investigation into the possible remains.
“Losing a child has to be the worst things for any parent, and not knowing what happened has to be so frustrating and devastating, so hopefully this picture turns out to be accurate and these are the remains of the young girl. The family deserves that at least,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “I mean the picture is fuzzy and vague, and there’s a very good chance that if it is a body it could be someone else entirely. It could even be the long lost remains of a pirate churned up from the bottom, but the both of them seem really insistent and passionate about the find which indicates that they are very likely correct, especially considering their track record. Hopefully this is the end of a long trauma.”
Investigators are considering the possibility that the apparent remains are just a bunch of rocks, though they see that as unlikely.
