MILITARY STILL UNSURE WHO TO ATTACK AFTER FAILED NYC CAR BOMBING
May 2 2010
New York, NY – There are no cities in the United States more sensitive to terrorism than New York. Despite the renowned toughness of the people of the city and their ability to endure pretty much anything that comes at them, bombings are the one
thing that still gets to them, their Achilles heel. And rightly so after all the city is the largest in the country and for many around the world seen as the cultural centre of the western world and because of that, attacks have been relatively frequent.
That sensitivity came to a head on Saturday as Times Square was shut down after the appearance of a car bomb in the area. With bomb squads working through the night to defuse the situation and investigators likely to spend weeks determining just who might have wanted to blow up the area, the people of the city are trying to calm their nerves and slowly return to normalcy. Much like they felt in 2001, the people of the city are moving forward with their lives but are already seeking answers and looking to find those who might have been responsible. Those answers may or may not come in short order but already the people of the city of New York are asking who the military is planning to attack next.
“At this point we are in the very early stages of the investigation. It will be some time before we are able to determine who was responsible and what their motives might have been. People should remain calm; the city is safe and will remain so. Please go about your business,” said a spokesperson for the NYPD. “We will find the people responsible for this and we will bring them to justice the American way. We have already been in touch with officials from various government offices and they have assured us that their forces are at the ready pending our final determination.”
It’s believed that the culprits will be from the Middle East or some other Muslim country that has poor relations with the United States.
“This is the world the United States lives in now. Countries like Russia, Pakistan, Northern Ireland, and Spain have been dealing with terrorism for years and it has most certainly come to the U.S. Even though there have
only been a few small and really dumb attempts since 9/11 it’s clear that the U.S, is under attack and this is just evidence of that,” said Scrape TV Terrorism analyst Doug

Davids. “Now it’s just a matter of where they go from here. Obviously the best defence is a good offence and that is very much the attitude the government has taken, though it might be different under Obama. Regardless, it’s clear they will have to attack someone for this no matter what the political ramifications. The United States has been attacked and they must strike. Hopefully it doesn’t turn out to be people from a friendly country.”
Some analysts are hoping that the attackers are from somewhere in South America which would allow attacks on Venezuela.
“The real question is whether or not the U.S. can continue to mount operations like this. Fighting a war isn’t cheap and they have been spending a whole lot of money over the last decade so opening up a new front might not be the best idea, though it is the required response,” continued Davids. “It’ll probably turn out to be Muslims, it always does so that will probably be the case this time around.”
