NEW REPORT SHOWS AIRPLANE ABDUCTIONS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH
December 13 2010
New York, NY – Mystery is often the spice of life, the juice that keeps us flowing. Mystery often creates anticipation, excitement, and a zest for life that keeps us going. Whether it is the anticipation of a new job, the discovery of a new relationship, or the

investigation of some long held secret, mystery keeps us excited and vital, they give us new reasons to live and provide a sense of magic that too often simply doesn’t exist in the adult world.
Of course, not all mysteries are happy stories. While the story of Amelia Earhart is certainly a compelling tale for outside observers, her loss was devastating to her family and friends. Many mysteries, particularly those involving loss are often not exciting but stress filled and damaging to the people left to pick up the pieces. Whether it is the loss of a child or something as simple as a misplaced family heirloom, loss is often the least exciting of mysteries for the people directly involved. While perhaps not as sad, there are many in the FAA who are now in the midst of dealing with a growing crisis with the nation’s air fleet. A new report indicates the organization is missing the data on one-third of private aircraft across the country, part of a rising trend of airplane abductions that has quickly reached crisis level.
“What we are looking at is a massive number of planes that have simply gone off the radar. Our best estimates are that at least 119,000 vehicles are currently missing. Some of those may very well be a result of improper paperwork and poor record keeping, but we believe that is a very small percentage,” said an FAA spokesperson. “Some of those issues are simple things such as aircraft being sold and the new owner not registering but we believe that the vast majority of these missing craft are not mistakes or accidents but rather they are truly missing.”
The FAA has started a plan to have all owners re-register their crafts starting next year.
“While we believe that some of these missing crafts will be discovered through this
process, there is no guarantee that we still won’t be missing large numbers. Frankly,
we expect there to be a large number of craft still missing after all of these registrations take place, something very frightening for all of us and traumatic for owners,” continued the spokesperson. “We have, through law enforcement officials, been able to recover a good number of craft over the years, principally from South America but we believe those recoveries are simply the tip of the iceberg. We believe that there are multiple highly skilled aircraft abduction rings at work throughout the United States and that we are only at the precipice of discovering the depth of these losses and we expect things to get worse before they get better.”
It’s believed many of the abducted planes are being used as drug mules for organized crime.
“There is a simple and sad fact across the United States that things like organized crime

are still very much alive and well and affecting the lives of ordinary citizens. While we have a romance with these kind of organizations, they have fully integrated themselves into the fabric of society, perhaps because of that romance, and continued to depreciate the American dream,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “In this case we have thousands, tens of thousands, of innocent aircraft being caught in the middle of a battle between those criminal elements and law enforcement officials that seem to be handcuffed. Unfortunately there will be a lot more innocent victims before this is through.”
FBI officials are working with FAA officials to uncover the losses ASAP.
