TSA ADMINISTRATOR HAS HAD PAT DOWN, ENJOYED IT

November 20 2010

Washington, D.C. – Since the events of September 11, 2001 many things in the world have changed. While there has certainly been a great deal of social and moral upheaval, it is the day-to-day aspects of life that things have truly changed. While 911 attack
many of those aspects of private life have been altered without much debate or argument, certain areas of life still engender a great deal of friction and tension when they undergo change. In recent weeks, it has been air travel which has once again come into that spotlight.

Air travel has, quite understandably, become perhaps the most scrutinized areas of modern life since the attacks with ever increasing security the norm friction between travellers and officials has become standard. Now, recent controversy over robust scanning and pat down techniques has upped the ante once again with the Transportation Security Administration directly in headlights of critics and travellers alike. Despite the objections though, authorities are sticking firm with their plans to make sure that no illicit items get on board any plane in the union. Officials though aren’t just telling, they are also doing. Even TSA Administrator John S. Pistole has subjected himself to the new techniques, including the invasive new pat down style that he claims is actually as enjoyable as it is effective.full body scan

“I am very sensitive to and concerned about people's privacy concerns, and I want to work through that as best we can. The bottom line is we need to provide for the best possible security. The new procedure is clearly more invasive than previous checks but are absolutely necessary to protect the people of this country,” said Pistole. “I myself insisted on the pat down so that I could experience what other people are going through. Not only was the pat down not nearly as bad as it has been made out to be, I actually enjoyed the experience. The TSO doing my pat down was gentle and patient and was very sensitive. Frankly, I’m eager to go again.”

A video that recently went viral across the web showed a passenger protesting the pat down, something for which he was later fined.full body scan

“Airport security obviously has to be a major priority for the TSA and other government officials. It has been very clearly established that plane can be used as weapons and there is little doubt that they would have been if robust security procedures had not been implemented following the attacks,” said Scrape TV Airline analyst Jeffry Johnson. “Breaches have proven that all of those procedures are simply not enough. That people are getting through and that could mean bad things. If the right wrong person is able to bypass security then we could easily have another major tragedy on our hands. Perhaps nothing as robust as 9/11 but any major loss of life would still be a tragedy, and potentially put the country and the world in peril once again.”

Recently a passenger on flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver was able to bypass security wearing a mask.tsa frisking nun

“That said, there is always going to be a line between security and liberty and we have to ensure that we are not crossing that line otherwise the terrorists truly will have won, and we don’t want that,” continued Johnson. “I personally haven’t undergone any of these new pat downs because I think the full body scanner is really cool, but given this endorsement I may just try. I mean the TSA Administrator has a vested interest in making it sound good, but I think it’s at least worth a shot to see how I like it. This could be a whole new way to travel.”

The officer who patted down Pistole, Rashard, is apparently one of the most sought after patters in D.C.
