AMERICA’S WEALTHIEST DOG DIES ALONE IN FLORIDA HOTEL ROOM

June 9 2011

Sarasota, FL – When Leona Helmsley died in 2007 there weren’t many people who shed a tear. While no one can know for sure it is entirely possible that Helmsley herself probably wouldn’t have cared. For those who didn’t live through the height of leona helmsley
Helmsley’s career it’s difficult to understand how a person could come to such an end, but she had earned the nickname ‘The Queen of Mean’ for a reason, and it wasn’t something she showed any interest in changing.

Helmsley, easily the most notorious of real estate moguls in her prime, thrived on her reputation as a kind of real life wicked witch. Stories of her nastiness were replete throughout the gossip community and when those tales – things like making waiter beg on his hands and knees for his job after spilling tea on a saucer – became public Helmsley not only did not deny them, she seemed to embrace them. Helmsley was the stereotypical villain that would through children into ovens and cast freezing spells on entire villages. Helmsley was exactly the type of villain that no one thought could exist in the real world. However, her heart was not completely cold. Though her four marriages did fail, in her later years Helmsley did find a kind of peace in the companionship of a Maltese, a dog which melted her cold heart. Upon her death, Helmsley rewarded that affection with a fortune, making the dog one of the wealthiest canines in the world. Now that dog has passed on, leaving behind his fortune, and a shattered collection of caretakers with nothing but bad things to say.

“Always, always yapping and talking. I grew up with dogs, I love dogs, or at least I did. This was the worst animal on the planet. I feel bad for saying this but I’m glad leona helmsley trouble
he’s dead,” said one caretaker. “You fed it the best food on the planet and all it did was nip at you. When you tried to bring it to the groomer it had to sit in the back seat all by itself and if the driver looked at it, watch out. This was a terrible animal and I think the money just made him worse.”

The appropriately named ‘Trouble’ was left $12 million by the billionaire, just a little less than her brother who received $15 million.

“It was a problematic dog to be sure. I think her got really used to being pampered, to being this millionaire dog, and never really realized how difficult it is for all the other dogs in the world who didn’t have his advantages. There is a reason he received all kinds of death threats. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone did him in, though no one would challenge it,” continued the caretaker. “I know that Carl (Lekic, the legal guardian) put up with lot taking care of the dog and I doubt he had anything to do with the death, but there are plenty of other people who would like to see him put down.”leona helmsley dog

Trouble was cremated before an autopsy could be conducted, in keeping with Helmsley’s Jewish roots.

“There isn’t a person in the world who is sad to see him go, I can tell you that. He died alone in his room. He had no real friends and no one who didn’t want something from him. That would be sad if it weren’t so well earned,” continued the caretaker. “No one really wants to see anyone go down like that, but if there was anyone in the world who deserved it, it was Trouble. Well, him and Leona. She was almost as bad.”

The world’s wealthiest dog, Gunther IV, is reportedly a real sweetheart.
