CANADA MAY BE NEXT ON PLATE FOR INVASION FROM THE UNITED STATES
June 11 2011
Washington, D.C. – With the war in Iraq more or less complete, and the conflict in Afghanistan drawing down, the United States has become blissfully peaceful all of a sudden. True, some forces will remain in both those countries for the foreseeable

future, but the open hostilities of the past are gone in both places. Even the conflict in Libya is only marginally a war for the United States, leaving her without a significant enemy for a very long time.
Inevitably tensions will flare up somewhere around the world, likely North Korea or Iran, but for the moment the country is void of a need to attack anywhere around the world. For some Americans that is exactly where they want to be, but for many it has started to create a kind of restlessness. In a nation build on conflict, the idea of not having an enemy to fight is something foreign, even a little disconcerting. Now though it appears that the might and power of the United States has found a new target, an old nemesis that may now be ripe for the picking. Though they have been neighbours forever, there has long been conflict between the United States and Canada, culminating in at least one war won by the friendly people to the north. Now hawks in the U.S. are looking for a little payback by hatching a plan to invade their northern neighbour and take it once and for all.
“It’s unofficial, kind of. It’s not something ordered by the President or the Joint Chiefs or anything but its being done by official people, so it’s kind of official. Basically, the
idea is to unify North America just as should have been done two hundred years ago. It’s a risky plan, but one that could work,” said a U.S. military insider. “Next year will be the bicentennial of the War of 1812, a loss which still sticks in the craw of many in the U.S. and that will likely help the plan to gain a lot of support throughout the country.”
At the time of the 1812 conflict, Canada was still a part of the U.K. That war ended in 1815, shortly after the White House was burned to the ground.
“It’s not just about history of course. Canada has a lot of resources that we could certainly use, resources which have been held hostage by politics and borders for a long time. By invading we could free up those resources and use them for real good,” continued the insider. “That will give us a strategic opportunity and allow us to truly unite the country in a big way. Even Alaska would be attached to the country properly afterwards which would be cool. A lot will depend on how the election process goes but I think this plan has a real chance to be put into action. Fingers crossed.”
Another plan has also been presented which would see the U.S. annexing a major portion of the Pacific in order to bring Hawaii into the country proper.
“Frankly, I think this is very unlikely to happen. True, Canada doesn’t have all that formidable a military but as we have seen in places like Afghanistan that sometimes doesn’t matter. Canada is fairly well liked around the world and I’m sure they would garner a lot of support from other nations should they be attacked,” said Scrape TV International Conflict analyst Mario Martinez. “That support would probably wane fairly quickly, because I mean it is Canada after all, but there is the off chance that it would gain some ground and prompt a resistance from other nations. I’m sure the Canadians will resist, at least the beginning and then kind of falter. Well maybe not the French, but everyone else.”
Canada’s Prime Minister Stephen Harper is reportedly eager to talk with American officials about the potential invasion.
