FAMILY SUGGESTS POSSIBLE SUICIDE PLOT IN CAYLEE ANTHONY CASE

Orlando, FL – As people across the United States, and across the world, still try to come to terms with the verdict in the Casey Anthony trial many are starting to ask serious questions. Some of the big ones revolve around fairness of the criminal justice
system and how this verdict ranks alongside other notorious cases, such as O.J. But the biggest question, easily the most important question, is what really happened to the two-year old girl that fateful night. Guilty or not guilty, there is still a child no longer alive.
At its core, amidst all the media hoopla and passionate fan interest, the case does revolve around the death of a child, an innocent who was taken from the world far too soon. With all the talk of Casey Anthony and her complicated family situation, it is very easy to forget the adorable face of a two year who had nothing but the future to look forward to, but who was left in a swamp to rot away, forgotten by her mother, her grandparents, and now the public at large. Eventually this story will write itself, it will play out in the media and fall away, but no one may ever really know what actually happened to the child, despite new evidence that claims that the toddler may have actually killed herself, setting up a crime scene to look like murder.
“Everyone is really glad it’s over but nothing will ever be right again. I mean Caylee is gone and no verdict, guilty or not guilty, will ever bring her back. This is a moment of celebration but it can only be brief. Caylee is gone and that is never going to change,” 
said a family insider. “They used the accidental death thing, the drowning, in the trial but that is not really what the family believes happened. In truth, they believe that her death was self-inflicted but that is something that would have been hard to sell to a jury.”
Lawyers have claimed that Caylee accidentally drowned in the bathtub and that mother Casey simply tried to cover up the death.
“It’s a hard thing to swallow and not a lot of people are overly sympathetic to the suicide angle. Those situations are very difficult for people to accept, especially when it comes to a child, but many people in the family believe that is indeed what happened and that makes it all the more tragic,” continued the insider. “Casey in particular feels terrible about that. She feels like she failed as a parent, that she let Caylee down somehow. I suppose every parent of a suicide feels the same way. It’s even more upsetting that she tried to make it look like murder, even possibly trying to pin the blame on her mom. That is something she may never get over, but she will always love Caylee no matter what she did to herself or to Casey.”
Caylee’s body was found in a plastic bag in a swamp with duct tape over her mouth, which the Anthony family believes was done by the child herself.
“The suicide argument is never a good idea in a criminal case. The very idea puts the
jury on the defensive both at the idea and at the notion that the deceased is the one being blamed. Whenever possible you almost always look for an alternative to the suicide argument,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “However that is just the criminal case. Ultimately you do want the truth as to what happened to the deceased, especially in a case where it involved someone so young. It’s going to be difficult to prove suicide given the age and people’s inherent unwillingness to accept such things in the first place, but if you want o know the truth, well sometimes the truth is ugly. Hopefully they can figure this out quickly and bring peace to everyone involved.”
Caylee reportedly left a note but it was written in crayon and only marginally legible.
