JOHN HINCKLEY FINALLY GETS A SHOT AT LOVE

Washington, D.C. – There is not a person in the world who has not felt, at least briefly, like gaining revenge on the person who broke their heart. Whether it is the collapse of a long term relationship or the dismissal of a long held secret love, the 
notion that the object of your affection would rather be with someone other than you brings harsh emotions, emotions that can, and often do, lead to dark and even twisted thoughts.
For the vast majority of people however those thoughts simply remain thoughts, fleeting ideas that quickly float away, pushed back by the wave of sanity that most of us possess. However there are people who are not able to overcome those feelings and desires, people for whom obsession is a way of life and for whom those dark thoughts can seem perfectly rationale. Such was undoubtedly the case for John Hinckley Jr. whose failed assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan, a 
result of his unrequited romance with actress Jodie Foster, has become the standard for lunatic love, a measure by which all obsessive love affairs are judged. While that
love affair ultimately failed due in large part to the largely misguided overture of affection, it appears that even for Hinckley, truly one of the greatest jilted lovers in history, has finally found love and this time did it without shooting a single person.
“He’s truly happy, happy in a way that I’ve never seen him. In recent years he seems to have moved away from his affection for Foster and turned it towards other people, even becoming a bit of a ladies’ man inside the hospital,” said an insider at St. Elizabeths [sic] Hospital where Hinckley has been imprisoned. “This is something special and natural and he has finally realized that he can have love, real love, without shooting anyone and that is a healthy approach to romance. He is starting to understand that conversation and understanding can go a lot further than bullets when trying to woo the opposite sex.”
Hinckley apparently wooed two other women in the hospital after punching an orderly and throwing peanuts at another.
“Romance is a tough thing, love is tough thing and frankly I think very few of us ever truly figure it out, or at least figure it out in the way that we imagine it should be, the way we see it in the movies. Love just doesn’t work like that, courtship isn’t poetry, real life can be hard,” said Scrape TV Romance analyst Ingrid Valencia. “Grand gestures can certainly work, but often only when there is an underlying interest and affection. The reality, whether he likes it or not, is that Foster never had any interest in Hinckley for obvious reasons and so any gesture, whether it be sending roses or shooting the President, was going to ultimately be unsuccessful. He just didn’t get that.”
Foster, who rarely speaks of the incident, is widely accepted as being gay.
“Obviously this thing was a one side affair and that is always hard, it’s really sad in a lot
of ways. I’m sure that Hinckley would have been very devoted to Foster, that his intentions were sound, but unfortunately his mental state affected his will and that led to a very misguided attempt at getting her attention. I mean it obviously got her attention but not in the way he had hoped,” continued Valencia. “These stories of people living on the outside are always sad. Foster has gone on and had a successful life, built a family, and the spurned lover has lost everything. That is not the part of the story that anyone wants to play but unfortunately there will always be someone on the outside looking in. Thankfully, in most cases they don’t carry guns. Here’s hoping that this new romance works out better than the last one.”
Hinckley’s new gf, Cynthia Bruce, lives outside shooting distance in D.C.
