MYSTERIOUS POE LOVER FINALLY GIVES UP AFTER SIXTY YEARS OF REJECTION

Baltimore, MD – Getting over the great love of one’s life is never any easy thing to do. Whether that person is taken by death, by another person, or by some other parting of the ways, the loss of that one individual to whom so much was dedicated is 
something that lasts forever. True, happiness can certainly be found again but whether it is in the recollection of a precious memory, the speaking of that person’s name, or even a glimpse of someone who might be that person, the memory and affection will never truly go away, the scar will never fully heal.
From Romeo and Juliet to Brad and Jennifer, the story of famous lost loves has been fodder for gossip and drama for centuries. Of course the reason for the compelling nature of such tales, truly the darkest of all tales, is our own personal experience with such feelings. By witnessing the pain of others, embellishing it even, we somehow mute our own feelings even as we indulge them. For the better part of sixty years one such love affair was played out in public, a long unrequited love that in the depths of the coldest parts of December brought warmth to the hearts of many who hoped that one day that love would come true. Unfortunately, now it appears that that suitor has finally given 
up, likely realizing that after 160 years, Edgar Allan Poe had well and truly made his decision.
“There's so many conspiracy theories. Like it ended in '98 and now the church does it. Or maybe in '09 they wanted to end it because it was the bicentennial. It just adds to the mystery. The best part of it is meeting people. I think we can safely say it's not car trouble, and he's not sick. This doesn't look good,” said a local Poe expert. “Part of you still wants the warmth that was part of it, and you go looking for the same woman. No, it's over with. And if it's over with, it's over with.”
The traditional ‘Poe Toasting’ began in 1949 but has not happened since 2009, driving many to speculate that the mysterious individual had indeed finally move on.
“In many ways this has been one of the great love stories of the western world. True, it was unrequited but the dedication, the adoration that this person obviously felt is still true love no matter which way you look at it. Considering Poe’s own traumatic love life, it is a poetic irony that such affection would come his way and he would reject it,” said Scrape TV Literary analyst Samuel Lee. “One could look at his life, particularly through his writing, and lament that he had such poor luck, that he had such failures in his personal life, but after this example one has to wonder if he wasn’t the architect of his own misery, perhaps self –indulgently so.”
Poe did marry, his thirteen-year old cousin who predeceased him at only twenty-five.
“Admittedly, it is very difficult to cross the chasm of death for a love. I mean no one has
done it in the past and despite his obvious affection and communing with the darker aspects of human existence, it is unlikely that even Poe would have been able to do such a thing,” continued Lee. “Given his history however, it is entirely possible that even if he could have come back from the dead to satisfy this suitor he may not have wanted to. By indulging a person who had unlimited love for him he may have lost something of what made him Edgar Allan Poe. It also of course means rejecting what all of us seek. Yet another sad love story.”
It is believed that Poe would have said it's not you it's me if he were still amongst the world of the living.
