NEW BIRTHER MOVEMENT NOW QUESTIONING WHETHER OR NOT HAWAII IS A STATE

Honolulu, HI – The President of the United States is one of the most unique positions in the history of the world. While running a country, any country, is certainly a big deal there is no role of leader more intensely studied or focussed upon as the
President of the U.S. There have certainly been leaders in the past far more prominent than any single U.S. President, but rarely does the position itself garner the intensity of attention that this one role seems to garner, regardless of who holds the position.
A great deal of that attention is of course simply noise, chatter that eventually fades out alongside the President himself. While some U.S. leaders have remained prominent throughout history, the majority of them are only even remembered in history classes. However unlike the leader in most western countries, the President in his time is probably the most important person in the world, garnering both positive and negative attention. There is no pattern to such attentions either, whether drawing on personal beliefs, sexual indiscretions, or in the case of the current President his place of birth. Never a major concern before, the issue of Barack Obama’s birthplace has become a potent talking point in criticism of the President. While there is little serious debate about Obama’s birthplace, Hawaii, a new branch of the so-called ‘Birther’ movement has decided to take a different tact and begun investigating whether or not Hawaii itself is even legally a part of the United States.
“From our perspective the birther movement has gone in totally the wrong direction. It’s pretty clear from all the evidence that Obama was born in Hawaii, but the real question we think is whether or not Hawaii is really part of the United States at all,” said Mel Barton of UFSA. “When President Eisenhower signed the Hawaii Admission Act into law we believe he was acting in violation of the law, that the Congress acted illegally in enacting the statute and therefore Hawaii, from a strictly legal standpoint, is not a state making the current President also illegal.”
The Admission Act has officially enacted in March of 1959 making Hawaii the fiftieth state.
“There is clear evidence that the Congress were not acting within the law and instead voted for ratification of the Act out of personal intent. Remember at the time it was a controversial decision and thousands of people in Hawaii itself actually voted against the Act,” continued Barton. “That would invalidate the legally status of the state and by extension the citizenship of everyone born there. That would of course include the Barack Obama who very clearly was born in Hawaii after the supposed ratification. This would make him unable to serve as President of the United States and his current actions illegal. We call on the supposed President to step down and allow our country to be run by a citizen.”
8000 people voted against statehood in Hawaii.
“This is certainly a different way of looking at things, though frankly one that probably won’t gain much headway. The truth is the people really like Hawaii, either visiting it or dreaming of visiting it and few would be interested in seeing it fall out of the Union even if it meant getting rid of Obama,” said Scrape TV Political analyst Gabriel Kinsey. “The bigger question would be who would take over as President. If Obama is serving illegally then so is Biden, which would likely leave the person who was Speaker of House upon his election as President, which would be Nancy Pelosi. Otherwise it would be the current speaker John Boehner but I don’t know if there are enough tissues in D.C. to handle that. I think though that it’s unlikely this will go anywhere, Hawaii is really beautiful.”
Hawaii state officials had no comment.
