SARAH JESSICA PARKER READY FOR HURRICANE IRENE

New York, NY – The people of New York aren’t used to be at the mercy of anything, but that’s exactly what they are right now as Hurricane Irene makes its way to their shores. The massive storm has been pounding the Carolinas and by late Sunday will hit the city, an eventuality which has left many terrified.
New Yorkers, of course, aren’t all that used to Hurricanes and so the stress level is understandably a little higher than it is in the rest of the affected areas. However frightened they might be, though, New York is a tough city and it will weather the storm, and so will her residents.
Now we know that at least one of the city’s famous residents will be safe after Sarah
Jessica Parker came out and declared her Manhattan apartment virtually hurricane proof, making her and her family safe from the incoming storm.
“I’m battening down the hatches. We have plenty of candles, batteries, and canned food. Anything that could possibly fly through the windows has been stowed away and locked down,” said the actress while promoting her new movie. Presumably, the lockdown also includes her three children and husband Matthew Broderick.
“Sarah is fine. She has had assistants running all over the apartment making sure everything is safe and secure. She is more than ready for the storm and she’s even a little excited about it. Fans don’t need to worry, she’ll be fine,” said a spokesperson for the actress. “When the storm passes she’ll be out and about the city just like normal. She’ll be around for a long time to come, no need to worry about that.”
The Mayor of city, Michael Bloomberg, ordered a mass evacuation of residents from certain parts of the city. He has allocated special resources to safeguard Parker and her family, even Broderick.
“Sarah has never felt safer. She is so thrilled that the city of New York has come together like this to help protect her and her family. She will remember this, it really does mean a lot to her,” continued the spokesperson. “Sarah is ready and she hopes that the storm really is one to remember. It’s not often you get to survive a hurricane, which is exactly what she will do because she is a New Yorker.”
Broderick has apparently been safely stowed away in a closet, not out of fear but out of concern that he might be taken away in the powerful winds.
“The people of New York are safe. There is some risk, but we have taken all precautions we feel are reasonable and effective. We have taken special precautions with our celebrity population of course which includes people such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Alec Baldwin, and Anderson Cooper. They are being given special protection to ensure that they will be here when this storm is over,” said a spokesperson for the Mayor’s office. “We want to assure the people of the United States and the world that the celebrities of New York are safe from the wrath of Hurricane Irene. While we appreciate your support, both morale and financial, we can assure you that we have things under control. Things may get a little wet, but the famous faces will be safe.”
Parker reportedly has assistants, as usual, suspending tarps over her windows to prevent them from being touched by rain water.
