TED BUNDY FAN CLUB CLOSED AFTER MEMBER FOUND WITH SKI MASK AND MACHETE

Seattle, WA – A 19-year old teen has been arrested after his connections to an undercover Ted Bundy fan club were revealed. Matthew Garret Williams of Lakewood was arrested earlier this month after shooting an air rifle at a man waiting at a bus 
stop, an arrest that uncovered a local chapter of the Ted Bundy fan club and a young man well on his way towards emulating the man himself.
“During the interview Williams stated that he was preparing to murder people. He stated that he had been increasingly strong desires to murder people and that he had been taking steps to prepare himself to carry out the murders, including steps to desensitize himself to murder,” said a police spokesperson. “These steps included identifying potential victims, killing animals, and watching videos of people being killed. These are textbook indicators of dangerous behaviours.”
Further indications of potentially dangerous behaviours include a rifle, ski mask, and a large machete found in Williams’ vehicle, as well as his tendency to use all three of his names.
“We all know that things like animal mutilation are common signs of serial killer potential. When you mix that with ski masks and machetes you have a perfect combination for exactly that,“ said Scrape TV Mass Murder analyst Drake Webber. “Thos are always good warning signs, not only for police but also for parents to keep an eye out for.”
It’s not clear what Williams’ personal situation has been aside from his growing interest in Ted Bundy. The Bundy Club is just one of many serial killer fan clubs which have sprouted throughout the country, the biggest of which is the Jeffrey Dahmer Initiative base in Milwaukee.
“Joining a serial killer fan club is increasingly becoming a sign that something is a little off and that we may be seeing a future predator developing. Anytime a parent sees one of these badges or the circular they should sit and pay attention,” continued Webber. “Obviously when kids get to a certain age there are limits to what a parent can do or see. A 19-yeard old is perfectly capable of buying machetes and ski masks all by himself and so we can’t rely on such things. To really weed out these future killers we need to pay attention to the hobbies.”
The Bundy Club is not officially sanctioned by the remaining members of his family. It has been the subject of many efforts to prevent usage of the Bundy name and trademark.
Williams, it appears, had only joined the club in the last year, prompting investigators to believe that it is possible he joined looking for an outlet rather than the club itself working to make him into a killer.
“Generally speaking fan clubs are not capable of making someone wanting to rape and murder innocent women. They are gathering places and not psychological experiments. Unfortunately their nature does draw those types of people and that restricts the activities of normal serial killer fans who have no desire to actually butcher people,” continued Webber. “In Seattle, which is really the Mecca of Bundy fandom, we have seen a gradual decline in membership for exactly this reason. Even for these fans some of the people joining are a little too much. It’s sad for them, but it also means that as the groups dissolve these future killers will go unseen.”
There are no girls allowed in the Bundy fan club.
