WALL STREET PROTESTS FALL FLAT AFTER ORGANIZERS FORGET SUNDAY CLOSURES

October 2 2011

New York, NY More than 700 people have been arrested while trying to cross the Brooklyn Bridge in New York, the largest single crack down in the city since the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protests began last week. brooklyn bridge

That movement, an effort to shut down the city’s main financial center, or bug the people who work there, or to engage their own constituents or something like all of those, have now taken on a much more serious tone following the arrests.

The protestors were blocking traffic on one of the city’s busiest roads which prompted the crackdown.

“Over 700 summonses and desk appearance tickets have been issued in connection with a demonstration on the Brooklyn Bridge late this afternoon after multiple warnings by police were given to protesters to stay on the pedestrian walkway, and that if they took roadway they would be arrested,” said a police spokesperson. The protesters complained of police brutality and that they were working for the corporate pigs on Wall Street.

The protestors are also marching against a dozen or so other issues, most of which have been lost or forgotten or ignored by the public at large which just wants to drive places.wall street

Michael Moore and Susan Sarandon are also present at the protests but didn’t attend to Brooklyn Bridge walk. Organizers later claimed they had forgotten that most Wall Street businesses are closed on Sundays, something they also plan on protesting.

“We are here to make sure that they are responsible for their actions, and that they do what is right for the people of this country regardless of race or religion. These protests are our right and our obligation and we will continue every day until we have what it is we came for,” said one protestor. “If they are scared to face us on Sundays we will face them on Mondays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If we have forced them to keep their doors shut on weekends then we have down what we came to do. We will keep them closed every weekend from now on, and eventually we will see them close their doors every day. We will not stop until we have what we came for.”

Most of those arrested were released later on. The majority of them went home instead of rejoining the protests, not finding jail to their liking.wall street bull

The group is also planning other protests in cities where there is no Wall Street.

“It’s noble that they are out here doing this, trying to right a wrong they see in the country. If nothing else, they are putting people back to work. Police are most certainly getting overtime and I’m sure tofu sellers are making a killing in the area so by those standards they have done exactly what it is they set out to do, I guess. I’m not really sure what they are protesting,” said Scrape TV American analyst Dave Davidson. “But good for them. Most protestors would pack it in after being arrested for protesting closed buildings but they keep on keeping on and that’s a good thing. It shows the passion of young people and their willingness to be arrested on the weekends.”

Protest will continue through the week.
