WEST MEMPHIS THREE FREE TO WORK AS SOLDIERS OF FORTUNE

August 20 2011

Jonesboro, AR – Call it delayed justice, call it a crime, call it redemption. It almost doesn’t matter what you call it, the West Memphis Three are free. After nearly two decades in prison for a crime they likely didn’t commit, the three convicted child murderers are now free men.paradise lost movie cover

The twisted legal story dates back to 1993 in a remote forest in the Arkansas hills and ended on Friday in a suburban courtroom, much to the delight of the vast majority of people who had followed the case. While there are certainly some holdouts who do believe the men killed and mutilated three young boys back in 1993, the majority opinion prevailed and set all three free, though they still retain their convictions.

Free for the first time in their adult lives, all three men are no doubt celebrating their freedom, but also planning for an uncertain future. Right now, they are being treated as heroes, even meeting with rock stars such as Eddie Vedder and The Dixie Chicks, but eventually the reality of life on the outside is going to start to sink in. The euphoria will fade, and life will return to normal. Luckily, the three men have formulated a plan to survive as soldiers of fortune, helping people who have problems for which no one else will help, as long as you can find them.

“It’s a great relief to all of them, of course. They have spent half their lives in prison, in the case of Jason Baldwin more than half his life. Now that they are free they are going to make the most of life and do everything they can with their second chance,” said an insider. “They are technically limited as far as movement goes in respect to the plea deal, but that won’t stop them from doing what they need to do to right wrongs, and to end the kind of injustices of which they have been victims.”john mark byers

Already two of the men, Damien Echols and Baldwin have gone to get their driver’s licence. Jessie Misskelley went home to see his family but is apparently planning on getting a pilot’s licence in short order.

“They really do feel that they are no obligated to fight for what is right. They were wronged and people fought for them. There are other people who have been wronged just as they were and they feel an obligation to pay things back,” continued the insider. “Things are just getting started now but they have been planning this for awhile. They still feel like they need one more member of the team and they have a few ideas for that. The one guy they really want doesn’t like to fly though, and that could be an issue.”the a team

The plan is very similar to the plot of the 1980’s television show ‘The A-Team’ which starred Mr. T, who has not shown any support for the trio.

“If you need them, and if you can find them, they will be there to help. There will be a fee attached of course, there is a lot that goes into fighting injustice, but they are doing this to become millionaires. They want to do what’s right, the same as was done with them,” continued the insider. “Once things settle down they will be on the road. If you have a problem, and if no one else will help, these will be your men.”

The three men will reportedly consider working for the families of the three deceased boys, provided the price is right.
