PENTAGON INVESTIGATING CLAIMS OF RAMPANT BLADDER CONTROL ISSUES IN MARINE CORPS

January 13 2012

Washington, D.C. – It was pretty clear from the first moment the video of Marine urinating on the bodies of dead Afghans appeared that it was going to be an international incident. Already outcry over the incident has started, spreading from Kabul to Washington and making a whole lot of people, well, pissed.marines peeing

In fact the incident has become such an issue that some of the most powerful people in the world, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, have started to address the issue directly, hoping to diffuse the situation from spiraling out of control.

To that end, the Pentagon and the USMC have started an investigation, interviewing members of the unit involved in the incident to try and ascertain exactly what went on and what type of punishment will be assessed. Early indications are that at least of the individuals caught on the video has long suffered from bladder control issues, something believed the be prominent amongst Marines and something which could mitigate any serious punishment against the men, despite the outrage.

“Anyone found to have participated or known about it, having engaged in this kind of conduct, must be held fully accountable,” said Secretary of State Clinton.urinal

Panetta also called Afghan President Hamid Karzai who has taken time away from counting his millions of dollars to express his outrage, showing how serious the incident has become.

No matter the medical conditions, it’s believed likely that some of the soldiers will suffer repercussions for the incident, largely because there were plenty of other places to urinate that wasn’t on corpses.

“It’s a sticky area, honestly, because they can always claim that they were being punished as a result of a medical condition and that is the last thing anyone wants. Put simply though, they had the ability to urinate in other places where there were no corpses. Places like that do exist in Afghanistan. It does take a little looking, but they do exist,” said a Pentagon insider. “We understand that if they have a medical condition that it would have been a mitigating factor, but peeing on dead people is very much outside the standards of the United States Marine Corps. This is something we have addressed in the past and should have been respected.”

The no-peeing-on-corpses rule was instituted in the late 1990’s during the Clinton administration.adult diapers

“Ultimately the medical status of these individuals, the Marines not the corpses, will be taken into account but will not be the only factor considered. We will have to investigate the areas where the incident occurred to determine whether or not there were other, more appropriate places to pee, and why the decision was made to urinate on these corpses,” continued the insider. “This needs to be a lesson for all soldiers in order to prevent such incidents from happening again. We also need to make it clear that rules are rules and all soldiers need to follow them, no, matter how much water they have had to drink or how badly they have to go. Discipline is what makes a military work.”

Despite rumours to the contrary, urinating on corpses is not considered a tradition in Afghanistan.
