MCKAYALA MARONEY THE LATEST AMERICAN ATHLETE TO FAIL HER NATION WITH SILVER

London, U.K. – For McKayala Maroney the only success was to be golden. Unfortunately the 16-year old ended up with a silver after falling on her dismount, a slip that cost her the gold and disappointed not only her friends and family but also her nation. Maroney tried to be gracious in accepting the silver but was clearly disappointed. It’s not clear if Maroney herself was to blame for the mistake or if the landing pad was somehow rigged but either way, she let down her nation and will rightfully not be remembered alongside the greats of her sport.
